Rely on the APM® by AM Bickford

Designed with the needs of veterinarians in mind, the APM® (Audio Patient Monitor) is a battery-operated audio amplifier that detects low-frequency pressure pulses of the cardiovascular system.

Replacing the traditional stethoscope, the APM® uses a sensitive microphone that transmits the animal’s heartbeat and respiration sounds using an esophageal stethoscope tube or chest piece cup. The amplified cardiovascular sounds are heard through a speaker and indicated visually through a flashing red light.

Safety in the operating room

Because of its hyper-sensitive monitoring capabilities, veterinarians are able to quickly identify time-sensitive disruptions in cardiovascular rhythm.

Timely audible and visual indications enable veterinarians to take patient saving action, should the need arise. With the APM®, veterinarians are reassured knowing that the patient’s cardiovascular activity is being effectively monitored at all times.

Built for convenience, this easy-to-use tool is affordable, compact and portable. Producing a soothing sound, the machine’s relaxing tone supports a calm and quiet operating room environment.

Testimonials

I have used the Bickford APM® (Audio Patient Monitor) in my practice for over 30 years. They are the best and quickest way to constantly hear the heartbeats on a pet that has just been anesthetized. You actually hear heartbeats, not obnoxious beeping noises that are supposed to mimic heartbeats. I have been able to concentrate on the surgical and dental procedures while listening to the audible heartbeats produced by the esophageal stethoscope. Slowing or more rapid heartbeats produced by the Bickford APM® prompt my staff that is monitoring the anesthetized pet to make adjustments to the anesthetic levels.

The Bickford APM® Audio Patient Monitors have given me exceptional peace of mind to be constantly aware of heart function on my anesthetized pets. I was worried about losing the ability to constantly hear heartbeats in my anesthetized pets when we were told a couple years ago that the sensors for the APM® were no longer available for sale and we only had one functioning sensor in our hospital.

I was ecstatic when I found out that Bickford was selling a revised APM®. I quickly purchased 2 units and could not be happier. The new Bickford APM® Audio Patient Monitors work beautifully with both audible heart beats and respiratory sounds in our anesthetized patients. I highly recommend that each practice utilize several Bickford esophageal stethoscopes to help carefully and optimally monitor anesthetized pets.

We have been using an APM® monitor for the last 30 years. We love it. Durable and well built, the older model was wonderful. We have been using the new model for about 3 weeks now. This new model is so much louder and clearer than the old but is just as reliable as the older model. We have two APM® monitors and could not be happier with them. Great company to work with and they really care that they are getting you a quality product.

Our APM® works great to reduce anesthesia time. In the short time our patients are in the surgical prep area, it’s much quicker to connect the APM® than the multiple leads of other monitors. That reduces anesthetic risk to the patient and labor/supply costs to us! Thanks.
